The titles of opening sequences are taken from four films: Se7en, The Butterfly Effect, The Black Swan and Gone Girl (in order from top to bottom).
There is one main similarity with all of the opening sequences, in which writing is all associated in some form. For example, in three of the opening sequences, it is a clear example of a character writing or a form of writing on a page. Also in The Black Swan (3), there is chalk being taken around in each scene.
The fact that writing is associated with psychological thrillers is significant because it relates to the contrast of the psychological and physical states of characters, which is important as it links to the importance of the opening sequence; the fact that a lot of the psycho thrillers have some connection with writing in the opening sequences.
