Usually Thriller's use a mixture of each of the narrative theories as which theory that is used is mostly dependent on the storyline the film is trying to portray. Also Thrillers use many different subgenres in order to maintain interest and create effects.

This task showed me what the most common storylines of Thrillers are and what narrative theories they usually follow. This is important for me to know so that when creating my opening sequence I can make it fit within the conventions of already existing popular thriller films. I found that it is often hard to see what narrative theory a Thriller is based on just the synopses they provide however from seeing the storylines it helps to give an idea of what is already being done and shows where the gaps of creative ideas are.
