There are 12 Thrillers showing this week for example :

The sub-genres that are common in the thrillers showing:
- Phychological
- Crime
- Action
- Horror

This tells us that the audiences are not into thrillers as much as other films. However, from what thrillers are showing and are popular shows that audiences tend to like fast paced movies that gain interest.


For our opening sequence, we will look at common themes that run through the thriller genre, to see what our target audience enjoys and looks for in a film. From the adverts, it is clear to the audience which are thrillers, due to the dark image on the advertising. The ones that immediately stand out include:
 > Don't Breathe
 > The Girl on the Train
 > Inferno
 . The Girl with all the Gifts
We did this tasks so that we could understand how to appeal to audiences and know which sub-genres were most popular in the cinemas currently. This would help us to pick a sub-genre that would be popular and easy to recreate because it would be easy to find influences for our opening sequence. In addition we can also learn what theme are common in Thrillers so that we can make ours creative but fitting.
