Action
Shot
                        In the first 12 seconds
of the film, the director uses an action shot to cut from an over the angle
shot inside a van to a shot of the van driving along the motorway. This is used
to create an action genre as it is dramatic and creates tension to the
audience. I think that this demonstrates the enigma code as it isn’t clear to
the audience what is happening.
Cuts
At 43 seconds, the director uses
cuts to create suspense and builds up clues for the audience. By doing this,
the director uses cuts of buildings to hands, back to buildings and back to the
hands in the car. By doing this, it gives the audience to start building up
clues in what is going to happen. I think that it is also the enigma coda as it
is only giving subtle hints throughout
Match
cut
                        At 29 seconds, the
director uses a match cut to go from the scenes of under the bridge to the sky
line of the city. By doing this it also creates the sense of the unknown to the
audience and building tensions. I think that this also shows the enigma code as
in the first scenes suspense is built up leading the audience to clues of what
is happening.
Iris
At 2:46, the director uses iris
through a magnified gun to close in on a certain character. By doing this, the
director creates the idea that something bad is going to happen to one of the
characters who is featured in the shot, also demonstrating the enigma code as
it gives clues to the audience on what is going on in the shot. It shows action
as a gun is a common prop used in action films, highlighting the sub-genre.
Cut
away
                        At 3:52, the director
uses a cut away, and starts at the directors face, pans across to other
characters face and back on to the main character’s face before the shot is
made. This demonstrates action also because a gun is used, which is a key prop
in an action film. It shows the enigma code.
